OPENrestaurant has been working on a big event in collaboration with people on both sides of the Pacific including Yuri Nomura and Tokyo’s Food Light Project, Four Barrel, Pizzaiolo, Meatpaper, and a menagerie of photographers, artists, foragers and chefs.

This fall will be the first rice harvest in Japan after the March earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis. Concern about radiation and the devastation in Tohoku has prompted many in Japan to think more critically about the food they eat and to ask to for more transparency in the way it’s produced. On Nov. 2 and 3rd we will put together a large-scale event called OPENharvest at Content restaurant in the Tokyo Museum of Contemporary Art to draw attention to and support of some of the best traditional and sustainable food producers in Japan.
